Both fufill medical school requirements. Biology is an easier major compared to biomed engineering. But biology is a pointless degree if I don't go to medical school or change my mind about dentistry. Biomed is a killer degree from what I've heard, it's like a double major. It is a more useful major if I decide to get a non-medical job. What should I do?

Biomedical engineering is rather specific and becoming really popular (kinda like programming). You can make a good income, if that's all you want, with that degree.

A biology degree is actually more versatile, in that you can become a medical writer, become a certified teacher, go to further professional/graduate school, become a laboratory/research assistant, etc. Regardless, you should have a minor with it too, that will increase your skill set (I would recommend chemistry, English, or maybe even physics).

You should actually think about a biochemistry degree for medical school, IMO.

Biomedical engineering could nicely be a great selection. they often the two paintings for a scientific institution conserving the equipment (x-ray equipment, diagnostics, and so on.), paintings in marketplace, often for a scientific device or equipment producer or they paintings in academia doing examine on biomaterials and/or gadgets. The scientific device employer is approximately designing, making and handing over scientific device technologies so as that wellbeing care vendors (e.g. docs) have the equipment to handle people. as an occasion, pacemakers, catheters, imaging structures, diagnostic equipment, stents, synthetic hearts, dialysis machines, synthetic joints, and vascular grafts are a number of the gadgets that biomedical engineers help produce. PE is suited on the subject of the scientific institution and academic areas... there is no longer that many roles. however the scientific device employer is doing distinctly plenty. The scientific device employer is very concentrated geographically with a particularly small form of extreme density areas that are the terrific places to locate a job. the main significant areas with a extensive form of agencies are: S.F. Bay area (distinctly Silicon Valley) Orange County, CA Minneapolis/St. Paul Boston San Diego There are different areas that have an rising biomedical employer presence (e.g. Seattle & Salt Lake city) yet they diminished in assessment to the huge ones above. So, you're able to truly evaluate area in choosing a school and the place you reside after.
