Wow! I thought I was reading something I could have written 7 years ago!
My daughter was EXACTLY the same way. From the day she was born she slept for 5-6 hours at a time. I was really worried too but my doc told me not to worry, it was just who she was.
We decided to keep her out in he living room during daytime naps so she was used to noise and activity around her. (We didn't want a house that had to remain silent because the baby was sleeping.) We put her in her swing some of the time, otherwise she was in her bassinette in the living room.
At 11 weeks I wouldn't try to tell her when she should sleep yet. She's figuring out her own schedule and really doesn't care what your plans are.
If she hasn't gotten on a "normal" routine by the first of the year, com back, there will be than enough mommies to help you out!
Congrats!!!!

As a mom of 3... I can tell you...they were all different. At that age that is not too much, and mine all had their favorite place to sleep, one was a swing, one was a bouncy, and one I had to hold and rock to sleep. One would ONLY stay asleep in a crib, the other two would NOT, so, be greatful she sleep good at night already, and if she is happier in the swing, then let her go.

i'm kinda going through the same thing with my 8 week old. she loves to sleep in her swing but i'm breaking her of it slowly. if she falls asleep in her swing, wait til she's completely out then slowly put her in her crib. if u rock her to sleep, do the same. if she cries let her cryfor about 30 minutes and see if she goes on her own. if not, stand at her crib and let her know ur still there until she goes on her own. try waking her up sooner in the day. after 3 hours of sleep i wake olivia up and make sure she's awake then i feed her. at nite i feed her an extra ounce or 2 and she sleeps 6-8 hours. it this doesn't work , ask her doctor.

She is literally sleeping like a baby.
Why can't she sleep in her swing? She can sleep anywhere she wants to, who is she going to answer to if anyone finds her there?
Let her do what she wants to do, in a year she will be having to do everything your way so give her some time to be just a baby.

the only thing you need to worry about is if your baby is getting enough milk/formula and is meeting the basic developmental milsetones for her age. don't worry about how much she sleeps. if you keep going to her regular checkups with the Dr. and she's gaining weight and growing appropriately, don't worry about it! enjoy your sweet baby and just love her and take care of her.
as far as her needing her swing to sleep, that's nothing to worry about either. remember, the whole time she was growing inside you, your body movements caused her to mave around in the womb. she's used to sleeping while moving. she could also be mildly colicky, and swings really help with that. my second baby slept in a swing at night for months (he had colic for the first 6 months of his life). we just got used to it. having a baby is all about making changes in your life, this is only the beginning!

newborns usually sleep a whole lot my son slept all day and night waking every 4 hours to eat and poo. one thing we did notice however he did find it hard to stay asleep at night. this may seem odd but it is because it is too quiet. your baby has just spent 9 months in 24 hour noise in your body it had a heartbeat every second digestive noises and even sound carried from the outside world. so i suggest a metrognome or other small noise maker in his/her bedroom at night. we noticed that every time we vacuumed it sent both my youngsters to sleep. so i purchased a cricket (electronic ) and played it at night

No not to much sleep infants sleep a lot.
But i would reccomend trying to get her on a night schedule. The old adage is never wake a sleeping baby but if u want to sleep at night you better wake her up. good luck

I would say that is too much sleeping even for a baby. I would talk wiht your dr as she might not be triving if she isn't eating enough.
