It could be tissue that is growing and forming through puberty. As a teenager the breast will be forming and tissue will be growing more and sometimes it is painful. Tell her to go see a doctor but more than likely it may not be anything to be concerned about and will be the results of growing and puberty.

It's unlikely to be cancer because she is really young, however it might be a blocked milk duct - which is painful and can cause swelling. Tell her to consult her parents and local doctor, who will be able to give a proper diagnosis, what ever the problem is. Also bear in mind, at 14, your body is changing all the time, which can cause things like small lumps on your breasts.

She probably has what is called "poly-cystic" breasts. I do. Every month, around menstruation, the breasts form small painful lumps(cysts). I know how painful these can be, but they are completely harmless and very common. tell her to get checked by a doctor, and he will probably prescribe Evening Primrose oil. This helps immensely with pain associated with menstruation.
It is unlikely cancer in someone so young, and cancerous lumps usually aren't painful.

I would tell her to go to doctor because breast cancer is serious. BC is the only reason I could think a knot could come from. I don't think BC cares about the person's age, sex, creed, or skin color. She needs to be checked ASAP, especially it's hurting and all. Hurry b4 it's 2 late!!! That disease is taking us females out. I also read about a lot of survivors, not trying to scare you but a lump in a breast is serious stuff.

Although 8 out of 10 lumps people find in their breast are not cancerous, your friend should still go to the doctor, just to be safe. Btw, no matter what age you are, as long as you have any breasts at all, you can still get breast cancer.

Your friend definitely shouldn't be embarassed about this, she should go and talk to her mother, and let her mother see what is happening. If her mother doesn't know or can't explain, then they need to schedule an appointment with a doctor to have it looked at together. It can be embarassing when something happens in such a personal area, but it is important to know, so that if something is wrong she can get treatment early.

Is she just starting to develop? All women have mammary ducts under their nipples, that's where milk is produced. Tell her to ask her mom about it. If she's still worried, she can make an appointment to see a doctor.

Tell her to tell her parents. If she doesn't you tell them. If she's your friend and you care about her, you must risk this.

She needs to see a Dr. but they say if it hurts, that's a good sign.

it could be cancer. get this checked out by a doctor IMMEDIATELY...Tell and adult you know and can trust. Like your mom for example. It might be nothing or something besides cancer, but get it checked out ASAP!
