Refreshing for someone of that stature to admit such a failure. Now if only some American President would do the same...

If this is true, then that is the first time I have ever known a politician to directly answer a question. Blair must have been in very rare form.
I am no politician or expert but I think Iraq has been and will continue even more so to be a disaster.

Anyone who doesn't recognize the disaster the Iraq invasion was and is obviously has their head lodged in a lower orifice. Saddam Hussein was a very bad man, but at least he kept the country stable and was no threat to anyone outside his country. Iraq will never, ever recover and retain itself in any semblance of the country it used to be. Chaos will reign, whether or not U.S. and British troops remain. Keeping outside forces there just make them sitting ducks. Their deaths and maiming are FOR NOTHING. That's the definition of disaster if there ever was one!

Surprised he admitted it. I was a great admirer of Tony Blair for many many years, until he supported the invasion of Iraq and making all kinds of lame excuses for it. I don't completely dislike him now, just suspicious of his agenda...

yep, and there is no way out, he'll be damned if he does leave and damned if he doesnt... you would think that he would have made sure of his facts before dragging his country into a war, though. still, to actually admit it is a refreshing fact, coming from a politician.

When you leave such big pockets to live in like that you see what happens. I wonder where all of the surrenders are from the first conflict are.

Other than capturing Saddam Hussein, I see no good that has come of this invasion. And I see no law that gave the U.S. authority to do this.
