You might well think that although your cones (the colour photo-receptors in your eyes) work in the same way that mine do, your brain could well interpret the signals differently.

We all know that grass is green, the sky blue by convention. Therefore, unless the other person suffers from a form of colour blindness, people will generally agree on colours.

But ultimately there is no way of knowing if you could somehow get into their head you would think, oh but that's not blue, that's violet etc. I suspect that some people may well be more sensitive to certain wavelengths of light than others because different cones react to different wavelengths. If you have a different proportion of say red and green sensitive cones, but not to the extent that you are 'colour blind', you will presumably be able to differentiate between some shades that others cannot.

We dont but if a person sees the same colour the same way all the time it does not matter. And we all know we taste food in different ways as some people like some dishers and not others

We don't we cannot see through each others eyes so there is no reasons to think that we all see colours the same way. Whether some see them brighter or lighter or even my green is your purple we will not know for know but maybe in the future we will find out.

That's simple, we don't!

There are many factors that effect how we see colour, for example light, how well developed our eyes are and our age.

For example if you look at some of the paintings Money did in later life compared with paintings he did after a cataract operation you will see that he paints the same thing in different colours!

So we don't all see colours the same.

The laws of physics are constant. They determine sound waves and reflective light. Have you seen white light split through a prism?
We all have the same equipment.
We all recognise the music note 'middle C'. We all agree what noise it is.
Sound waves make sound and light waves make light; and light plus the properties of the surface make colour.
What makes you think we see colours differently?
People who see colours differently can be diagnosed as colour blind.

There's no mystery to it if you know any biology or physics.

of cos....biologically we see colour same...no doubt....there may be dispute and question about what colour others see....but in reaility..there isn't any proof or research to show that different hu,man have different sense..anyway...since we have the same gene and silmilar colour simuli....so we have plenty of evidence we that we have the same response to same colour is similar....
What most people say"some people might see red as yellow and blue as orange, etc."is just a thinking...there were no any other evidence proven yet to show whether it is true....

We probably don't.Maybe thats why we don't like the same colours or cant match colours the same, interesting.

omg i have thought about the same question too... we've also discussed this in bio class last year.. we actually cant be sure because when we are little we are taught colors by the way we see them.. lets say i can see green as green and i was taught that it was green yet you see green as red but you were taught that the red that you see is green so when ever you see red it is green and then red would be a different color but call red.. i hope that makes sense if not im sorry

I think it must be the same as when you go into a store selling tv's and they all have the same channel on, each set is almost the same but a little different, some have more definition, other have more contract but they are all basically the same but different.
