Yes I have done 5 hrs or close to five hours(3-5) of homework for the past 3 years.

In college, you need to study about 3 hrs for every one hour spent in class. If you're going to class ~15 a week, you study ~45 hrs a week. That's about 6 hrs a day. But that doesn't include things like homework, project, extra studying for tests, papers and so on. And yes, a lot of people do study that much, but a lot of people don't also.

I think it depends on how well you grasp the subject. I never studied over an hour a night until I was in my advanced cell biology class. Then, I studied easily over 5 hours a day. And I still only barely passed the class with a C. Good thing bio isn't my major, huh?

If you're one of those slowpokes that do homework while watchin TV, or listening to music, IMing friends on the computer, yeah you're gonna do 5 hours of homework and you're gonna complain. That's why nerds and good students have a good place in them: they don't do stuff like that and concentrate on what they're doing. They can get the same amount of homework done in 1 hour. It just depends on how you spend your time.

Dedicated people spend 5 hours but it is very good to take 5 hours to spend on your homework if it is neccessary.

It does happen. It really depends on the type of classes you are taking. If you have AP classes (especially in high school) the 5 hrs mean you're speeding through your work!

Yes they do. It is really sad because no child should do that much homework a day. They need to be able to go outside and play with the other kids :)

i do but im in all honors classes with ap us history, honors precalc, honors english, and honors chemistry.. with all those classes there is an average of 4 to 5 hours a night
