i mean, seriously. jimmy page, jeff beck, eric clapton, steve vai, jimi hendrix. they're all geniuses. so why is it that people insist on having these totally pointless arguments about "who's better?"

they all have different styles, so it would be hard to decide, it is a pointless argument, kinda like, which is a better song, Kashmir or Purple Haze

Same reason sports fans argue over which team is better. Hell, they will even bet hard earned $ to prove their point. At least we don't do that. And by the way , Strvie Ray Vaughn is the best
