I am soaking regular tampons every half hour. I have been like this for two days and I feel fine otherwise, but should I see a doctor?

Hello -- You should consider seeing a doctor as this could be serious. I really wouldn't put it off.

Obviously this is unusual for you. I would not worry about it unless the following occurs:

You drop more than one major clot (lining) over a 3 day period;

You continue this bleeding pattern past the normal length a period should run (5-7 days);

You start feeling weak, shaky, woozy, have other non-normal symptoms or get anxious enough to want medical reassurance.

I presume you are either a young female (11-17) or older (38+). You may be experiencing a dysfunctional uterine bleed (DUB). If you do decide to go to the doctor, please take some advice from one who should have done some research first, and don't let the doctor prescribe you any hormones or birth control (shots, pills, anything) until he/she does some routine testing first. Part of that testing should be a saliva hormone test. If I had had the test done first, then the doctor would have known I was low on progesterone, and may have prescribed something other than the Depo-Provera shot.

It affected my hormones so bad that I became diabetic (high blood sugar). I was hypoglycemic (low blood sugar) and told the doctor that, but he prescribed the shot anyway, despite the literature on the shot saying it was not good for diabetics. Anyone with an insulin imbalance (low or high) should be very careful about taking hormones, of any type, for any reason.

well if you feel fine i don't think it's that serious. try using a super or superplus. i use superplus and i'm not a big girl but my period just flows like a waterfall. i know kinda graphic sorry but i'm sure you're fine =]

Yeah, you should definitely see a doctor if you're period isn't normally this heavy.
