Rush, Rainbow, Whitesnake

Beatles were never Heavy - T-Rex were Glam Rock and Queen were Queen, Freddie could sing anything from Opera to Rock but I'd never call it heavy.

I always liked Hawkwind, a bit more hippy than heavy but definitely oozing with prideness. What about Saxon? Rainbow? Whitesnake? Ok, they were all awful, but they were British and 'Heavyrockers' as you put it. Do you remember Baron Rojo? They were Spanish. Frightening! Hehe. Rock on! David Essex - does he count? Now wheres that time machine - i feel a trip to the late 70s coming on...

That's a sound list my friend and i agree. But i'm gonna add in 2 you've missed who i think deserve mention. From the 70's, Rainbow and from the 90's, Thunder - both very eavy, very umble!

all british eventually hit a brick wall at which point they rebel against whatever they have been doing up to that point

many of the first punk rockers were actually upper class rich kids as well (so they were just rebelling against the establishment in an organised way)

personally i dont trust anybody that says they dont like led zeppelin ;o)

Led Zep

Iron Maiden

The Who

The Stones

Deep Purple

British Rock Gods, could teach today's young whipper snappers a thing or two about how to ROCK! (Mick Jagger certainly could and he's a grandfather!)

Sadly don't make 'em like that anymore.

(God did I really say that? I'm only 34! LOL!)

ok you really really have missed the idea of heavy rock in your list, t rex was glam rock, the beatles were rock and roll and pop, queen was whatever freddie deicided to write at the time but none of his stuff was heavy rock fat bottomed girls was rock but it wasn't heavy, motorhead was just noise good noise in the case of the ace of spades but stll just noise - anyone playing heavy rock didn't actually get a record label or contract they were out in the fringe clubs - this hasn't changed
