Try www.crochetpatterncentral.com They have a whole bunch of patterns that you can download and they have a "how -to " section with directions for various techniques. They also have a section marked "Tips and Techniques" that offer suggestions about yarn storage, pattern reading, etc. I look there frequently to see what is new.

Go to your craft store and find an instruction sheet for a scarf, they are the easiest things to make.

Try any one of these. Some even have stitch helps when you are ready to move on to other projects.
