Morning sickness for me started at about 5 weeks and lasted till the day my children were born. I never actually vomited but every morning when I got up I retched & heaved for about an hour! However on the positive side., it was never as bad on a weekend when I got a lie in!

For me it was more a feeling of nausea...I didn't really throw up, but really felt like I wanted to. And if you're still about a week before you're due to get your period, it's likely too early to be having morning sickness....on average, that begins around 6-8 weeks. Of course, you can get it earlier or later, but that's the average. It may just be in your head; you have pregnancy on the brain, so any possible symptom makes you think it's strictly a pregnancy symptom. All you can really do is wait until next week and take a test...otherwise you might just feel sick because you actually ARE sick, not pregnant.

Fo me, morning sickness kicked in at about 8 weeks, and it was mostly late afternoon. It was just a slight feeling 'going to be sick' but never actually threw up. A friend suggested eating gingernut biscuits, and though I hated them before pregnancy, they did the trick! I would also say that the excitement or fear of being pregnant would give anxiety feelings which may be similar to morning sickness.
As for 'feeling pregnant', I had the feeling before my period was due, and took a test which was positive, and when I had my first scan 2 weeks later they said that I was around 5 weeks - the scan showed 2 tiny dots ( I thought it was twins - but turns out that at that stage the 'baby' is atatched to a yolk sac) lol I can't describe the knowing feeling, just that I did know.
I hope that everything goes well for you, best of luck, Donna :-)

For me personally, this stage would've been far too early for morning sickness. I got it at about 7 weeks with both of mine, and it started as incredible nausea, so not actually vomiting, but being over sensitive to certain smells, even everyday smells made me feel so ill. I don't think I've ever had a nauseous feeling like pregnancy nausea, it's just awful...like a hungry, headachey feeling...yuk. I started being sick after about two weeks of having this, with my first it lasted until 16 weeks, with my second it lasted for 9 months...it was all day, everyday...I actually lost weight in the first few months...it was a horrible time!
As for "knowing" you're pregnant...you just do. I knew with both of mine. My first was because my boobs felt very fat and plump, like nothing I'd felt before, and I kept saying in my head, "I know I'm pregnant". With my second, I was testing too early and getting negative responses, but I still knew that a positive would appear...and it sure as hell did a few days later. If I was you, I'd test on Wednesday...you can get quick response tests which tell you on the day of your missed period, but I'm always too eager to wait. Good luck x

My body just acts differently. My appetite changes. Not to strange foods or no eating, just different. Just so happens that is how my sister first knew too. But not everyone does. Some people don't know until a missed period. And morning sickness is like foodpoisoning. You feel cruddy and your stomach is determined to get rid of everything you put in it. Fortunately most of us only do it for a few hours a day or a few weeks.

morning sickness for me was 24 hour sickness!! any smell of food or drink made me sick, i think i was feeling sick from about 5 weeks but didn't start being sick until about 7/8 weeks! it was horrible anything set me off, i feel for you if you are pregnant!!
i don't think that you can describe the feeling of just knowing that your pregnant its just a gut feeling, some people know and feel a little different, i felt a little lighter and lost a bit of weight but didn't find out i was pregnant until i was 3 months i just thought i had a tummy bug!!
congratulations if you are pregnant and its what you want!!
good luck!!
p.s. if you do get morning sickness then buy some raspberry leaf tea drink whenever you feel queasy!!

to me morning sickness feels like you've been sittin on public transport for too long........... hence the reason i never knew i was pregnant. Just a slight turning of the stomach but nothing serious enough to make it feel like a stomach bug. I'm not entirely sure if its too early or not as everyones is very different when it comes down to pregnancy but your body will definatley let you know if it feels different, follow your instinct......
