the purpose of the birth control pill is to stop ovulation-stopping ovulation is what keeps your eggs from reaching fertilization and, since ovarian cysts are formed during ovulation, women with bunches of painful ovarian cysts are put on the pill to stop them as well. then you have people like me who continue to ovulate on the pill...so it happens, but it's not supposed to. And, in response to your first answerer, of course you get your period when you're on the birth control! Women who don't ovulate at all, with or without b/c, still get their period.

no the hole point of birth control is that u don't ovulate so u can't get preg
