Don't let the secret out, but it's pretty much just a big gimmick. If your baby has sensitive skin he could just as well be allergic to Dreft or All for babies as scented Tide.

All Free and Clear is really good since its a mild detergent. All makes a baby care detergent similar to Dreft. I would avoid anything like Tide or Gain for the first few months. Around 3-5 months (with both of my kids) I switched over to Gain after using mild detergents because the clothes just looked cleaner with less stains. You can use am mild detergent as long as you want. I have a friens that didnt stop using Dreft until her son was well over a year. I guess most people didnt realize that you were asking about the BRAND ALL. Not asking if every laundry detergent is safe.

Supposedly, Dreft is best. Dreft IS pricey, so what we did, was get a regular detergent that was free of dyes and perfumes, like you mentioned, and then we rinsed them a second time in the wash..Seemed to work REALLY well and we didnt have to worry about buying a second detergent that was pretty high in price.

Dreft MAY NOT be the best for baby. My son has eczema that was getting worse. His doctor advised us to STOP using dreft. Dreft is free of fragrances but NOT free of masking agents that may irritate sensitive skin. Since we switched to a "free & clear" detergent,my son's skin improved.

Dreft didnt work out for my little sister. We ended up using arm and hammer, the one that is free of dyes and perfumes. around here it is frequently on sale which is an extra plus.

I use Bio-Kleen laundry detergent for the whole family's laundry. I think this laundry has less chemicals in it then even the defergent without dyes or perfumes.

my son had an allergic reaction to dreft. Although hypoallergenic. I also have very sensitive skin and allergic to lots.

I recommend All Free and Clear. I have used it for years with no reactions.

Congrats!

I used it for my daughters laundry when she was a baby, I wasn't sure if she would have some kind of reaction to ours being so little, but I now use the same one I use.

You don't need a special detergent, you can try the one you use and if there is no skin reaction, you're baby will be fine.

We didn't want to be doing separate laundry for the babies, so we just washed their things with our things and watched out for sensitivities. (We didn't specifically seek out unscented and undyed products, either.)

Worked fine, with no issues.
