Blankets! I can't stress that enough. When you are just sitting or lying there looking up, you can get really cold really fast. Dress warmer than you think you need to, and bring more blankets than you think you need to.

Also, I'd bring hot chocolate or hot apple cider, or some other hot drink your family enjoys. Yummy munchies are good, too.

i watched them and first you will need a comfortable chair that will let you look slightly up, you will need many blankets, i have a sleeping bag thats rated at 40 degrees and i was freezing, and well nothing else just patience i sat out on my trampoline for 4 and a half hours and it was really cool but you must wait

I would suggest some snacks and drinks and a few lounge chairs.

Also, depending where you are, dress warmly.

A telescope or binoculars are useless for a meteor shower.

I would get some of those collapsible lounging chairs, blankets, and something warm to drink. A portable fire pit would be nice as well.
