Many seniors complain about being cold, a sweater or a throw would work well. Also, a radio to listen to talk shows or to music would be another great idea. If you're looking for more ideas, contact a nursing home. Merry Christmas.

Maybe you can find some fleece on sale and make blankets for everyone. You buy a couple yards then cut 2 inch cuts every couple inches and tie the ends together. I live in NY and there are always coupons in the paper foor 40-50% off. If you used those and started now it could be cheaper. The blankets don't take much to make. You could always bake batches of cookies or make beef jerky for the guys. People enjoy food.

I don't know where you're located but how about warm socks? Maybe some nice perfume or cologne; scarves; aprons; ties; books; magnifying glass; magazine subscriptions; candy or dietic foods if warranted; music in one form or another; picture frame with photo of family; blanket. Most of these things could be purchased at Wal-Mart or Target.
Since you didn't say whether or not you have a budget, it was difficult to suggest items. Also, senior citizens start at age 65, which, by today's standards is not so old.

gift certificates are good as well as certificates from you to do something of help with something. If they like movies or books, a gift certificate there, or if you notice that they really need something, get that for them. Dont get stereotypical senior stuff like polygrip, thats insulting, or just stuff to sit around. If they have everything and are giving people, maybe a donation in their name.

Any type of sweaters or shaws are always good. Also if the women like those gaudy costume jewelry the local thrift shop has tons! Also for men some dollar store cologne is always nice. I like to give the sweaters though in most thrift shops they are like 1 or 2 dollars.

Gift cards for places like Walgreen's or CVS pharmacy, which they can use for things they want or more importantly for the things they need and can't afford. My Grandma used to also like a few instant lottery scratch off tickets (gave her something to do on those long winter evenings)

Well get a really easy recipe for cooking. Then go to Wegmans and buy all the ingredients. But it in a really cute bag. And then it will be so great. Or I don't know if you have heard of Tastefully Simple. But you can order prepared food. And let me recammend the beer bread. My mom gave it to my grandma and she loved. All they have to do is put it in the oven!
