i'm sure you could find all kinds of christmasy items from the dollar store. i don't know what all you have in your room to put decorations on though. but you could buy ribbons and find some way to use them. you could get stockings probably from the dollar store. buy some plastic snow flakes (stand them against something or hang them from your curtain, window). i forgot where i got mine. my mom bought some from the dollar store though.
christmas lights.
garland.
angel figurines or ornaments.
wreaths
the gifts for your friends and family could be used to decorate your room. for now anways.. untill they need to be under the christmas tree.
buy fake flowers like poinsettias from michaels or walmart.
stores have a whole christmas section in them. buy whatever is cheap yet nice looking.
don't forget the mistletoe above the door. lol

If you let the water ever dry out of the stand then a resin forms over the area where the tree was cut and it will really restrict the amount of water that gets up into it. Don't let the water level drop-- if it does, you may have to cut a few inches off the bottom of the tree to keep it alive and I assume that if it's already decorated you probably aren't going to go through the hassle of doing that. I'd recommend that in the future you use a large bucket instead of a stand-- use beach rocks to hold the tree upright. You'll find it's a lot sturdier than a stand but it can look a little ugly so in my house we wrap ours with Christmas paper :) You definitely don't want a dried out tree in your house, especially next to a fireplace as they can be a really serious fire hazard. You can try adding sugar to the water-- a lot of people consider this a myth though.

colorful garland and lights are you speaking of a dorm room? If you are limited to space stringing garland at the top of the wall towards the ceiling will give the room a festive glow without getting in the way. Lights around the window. Dimestores sell all sorts of Christmasy wall pictures to hang. Sounds like you have the Christmas spirit already, Congratulations

You could remove your bed and sleep in manger full of straw. Just rent animals and you have the nativity!
If your in a warm college state - frost your windows with that can snow stuff. If your in a cold place your windows are really frosted, that saves money!
Smells - are great memory keepers - find childhood smells of cookies, etc. and have them in your room.
Music, sounds - of the Holidays also are easy to find. Bells and chimes. Cd's
Sight - All I can do is repeat things you've thought of. So it's keep it simple and sparse or go overboard and fill every inch of space. Are you fond of walking around in your room? or could you stuff it to the ceiling? Maybe take all your stuff to a friends room and fill yours with decorations?
Glad your in the proper Christmas mood! I thought it was dead, from reading all the negative questions, here.
Hope your contagious!

Colorful or pine garlands on the walls where they meet the ceiling.
Wreath and bow, or Xmas stick-ons on the windows.
Christmas candle, with pine scent.
Presents under the tree, or course!
I think lights around the window would look great.
They also make Xmas rugs and throws.

I don't put up a tree - not enough room.
But my old - some are really old - ornaments, I hang
them on my curtains with the hooks. Put some in a bowl
or on shelves, lots of candles, music and incense.
It looks festive and it's easy to clean up.

String lights across the walls. Put some push pins across the wall and those are what the lights can rest on.
