It's like a radio station that plays only music you like. What you do is tell it what bands you like and it plays them for you but then it starts playing other bands it thinks you will like. Then you tell it if you like those other bands or not, and it adjusts your choices. It's an awesome site. I discovered sooooo many musicians I never heard about through it.

I'll recommend you to listen the best British bands from 60's because many of the current music styles have their roots in sixties.

It is a nice coincidence that I (living in Northern Europe, far away from England) am very interested in British rock between 1964-1974 (= the best years of rock, I guess).

Study first the progressive line from Yardbirds trough Cream up to Colosseum (= the final step in the development of progressive rock).

Another line is the progress of heavy (metal) rock, beginning from Led Zeppelin, Uriah Heep and Deep Purple.

Still one important line: more melodic bands like Beatles, Hollies, Procol Harum, Moody Blues e.t.c.

You should know the history of rock music to understand the current scene of rock music!

i do no longer understand in case you will possibly appprove the singer's voice pitch or no longer, yet one in all my well known bands suited now could be purple. they are not precisely mainstream, yet no longer underground the two. you ought to have heard of them. it particularly is extra often than not making a music, and the screams you do pay attention are integrated superbly, such as you reported to reveal interest and whatnot. Their first album, end of Silence, is unquestionably nicely worth a pay attention.

Listen to 'Hocus Pocus' by Focus, a 70's prog rock band, they were Dutch and had some great albums, Hocus Pocus was a single which I consider to be the best rock single ever!

Eugh that definitely is hard rock. You want some roll to go with that so as the man suggested there try some early Led Zepppelin and of course the amazing Stooges and discover how much better it is than all of your list.
