I have a PS2 and found out about all the neat new games coming out for PS3. I am wondering...can you play those PS3 games on a PS2? I've heard that you can play PS2 games of the PS3 system, and hope it can go vice versa!!

Guys, please! Obviously, I know that the PS3 must have slightly different features since it's an entirely new system! However, I wanted to know it the PS3 can play at least SOME PS2 games.

No you can't play PS3 games on a PS2, for many reasons.

The most basic is that the PS3 discs are blu-ray, and PS2 has a DVD in it.

Oh, and all the chips inside are different.

the answer is no and even vice versa. you can't play 200 of the ps2 games on a ps3, and also the ps3 games need mor graphics, so it may mess up your ps2

Obviously not. Who would waste that much money on a PS3 then? Think about it.
