I've asked T-Mobile about it and, of course, they assured me it's NOT an RFID chip...but since when are the corporate retail and electronics giants trustworthy? Heh? Anybody know the truth?

and no the sim chip in side the phone is not a tracking device. the most a rep can do to track your location is to see whitch tower you are bouncing off of. Yes they have the ability to see what area you were in at the time you made the call. If you are not on a call or have not accessed the network they have no clue were you are. And please remember that they can only see the tower that you used. Not a actual location of the phone like on TV
