You want to get the book "Cooking with Cannabis" - it tells you loads of recipes for cooking with it, how much to use, etc - excellent book. It is much healthier to eat it than smoke it. But the basics are simple, cannabinoids disolve well in fat, so grind it up finely, and put in in something buttery or milky - try making it into hot chocolate, or put in a high fat yoghurt and leave for a while before eating.

It works best if you grind up the buds and cook them in butter, then make some cookies or anything your heart desires. THC is not water soluble, so most of it will be wasted if not cooked in some kind of fat. there are many recipes all over the internet, check em out.

Nice ground up in melted chocolate with a bit of southern comfort or brandy or whatever. Bit gritty though and theres a tendency to eat too much and chuck a whitey because it works slower and you keep on munching.
