I've never been at an American nude beach (are there any?), but in Europe, nude beaches are not for idiots to come and stare at naked men and women, it's about the elimination of tan lines and the freedom of being able to be naked. Only Americans are perverted and gawk at a nude person - in their culture, nudity is semi-condemned and it results in Americans not being able to handle it as well.

Speaking for myself, I love the nude beach and have been going for the past four years. It's a place where everyone looks at everyone else - we're naked, after all! - but only the pervs stare or gawk. For me, it's fun to be surrounded by so many good looking naked guys, and I enjoy looking at them as much as I'm sure that they enjoy looking at me and the rest of the naked girls there.
If you don't want guys to look at you, don't get naked at the beach!
For those of us who enjoy it, the nude beach is a great place to spend some quality summer time.

Honeychka summed it up perfectly when she said about the difference between Americans & Europeans.
It's only Americans who go to gawp at naked people. In Europe it's about being free and enjoying the beach.

Well I like to be checked out, naked or not (Believe me, it happens a lot lol) tho I'm not sure all women would like it, try to check out the ones that are moving around and having fun, they're more of the party girls.

All people at nudist beaches like to look and be looked at.That's why they go there.
