The Lovely Bones was definitely one of the best books I have read lately. My all-time favorite book is 1984, by George Orwell. It really opened my eyes at the tender age of 15.

The best book I've ever read has to be the first fantasy book I picked up so many years ago. I don't even remember the name of it but the plotline is still there in my mind a bit hazy though. It had to have been good because if it wasn't I wouldn't have read so much fantasy.

A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving is my favorite by far. The character of Owen is hilarious, tragic, and incomparable, and the storytelling reminds me of what it's like to grow up.

I love Twilight by Stephenie Meyer, but a close second is Eragon by Christopher Paolini.

for me it would have to be a series by jean auel, which included 'Clan Of The Cavebear'. they were/are an awesome series into which you would fall through time and space and be in that period of time. I have never read anyone who even came close to capturing the past like jean. every book in the series is a stand-alone book, but as a series. wow.
