It sounds like the brake switch. I am guessing it is a ford. This is very common. Does the light shut off if you pull up on the brake pedal? I had a windstar with the same problem. You can also check for a recall on this problem. VW has a recall for this, and I belive that some other manufactorers do aswell. If this is not the solution you could also check the trailer wiring if equiped. Good luck.

Sounds like the switch up in the pedal box is sticking, get a new one and stand on your head with your feet over the seat back and head down among the *** ends and beer cans under the speedo with a torch in your mouth and an adjustable spanner in each hand and learn why mechanics cost b£ 50 per hour as you try to fit the new unit, dont mess with the old one it will break off if you disturb it.

Probaly a connection problem. Check the lights are not damp and clean the connections

there is a switch on the top of the pedal normaly there is make sure it is getting pushed in all the way

check the connections in the light clusters, if you don't find any problems refer to the manual in the trouble shooting guide in the electrical section

its probably the button up under the dash thats runs off your brake.it could need adjusted or replaced.
