wow, 13 and having a baby? If you aren't that far along I would consider not having it and waiting until you are older to have children. you have a whole life ahead of you. Don't be in a rush to have kids, you aren't even old enough to hold a job. Anyway, if you decide to have it breast feeding is best. If you can make babies, you can make milk. But honestly, I would reconsider your choice on haveing it, babies are a lot of work and responsibility, and you are just too young right now. think of whats best for the baby, and you..

I'm sorry but to me abortion is murder. I'm already 33 weeks and my boyfriend and I are looking forward to our baby girl.

Your breasts will make milk after the baby is born. Breast is always best and bottle feeding isn't easier- being able to just bring the baby to bed and nurse overnight while you sleep or getting up, going downstairs, making the bottle- trust me the bottle is a total pain in the butt.

just because your young doesn't mean you can't make milk. For me breast feeding is a lot easier because there is no need to prepare anything and you don't have to buy that much formula. But the bottle (you can use a breast pump) is easier if your going to the store or on the road. There is nothing wrong with doing both. Just chose what ever is easier for you and the baby for the situation.

P.S.
You should look into getting government assistance if you haven't already. They can provide medical insurace and cash aid. (the cas aid will help you get any baby stuff and maternity clouths your gonna need) Also look into the WIC program they will help you with food vouchers. Every little thing helps remember babies are expensive and you parents would appreciate the help. It also doesn't matter how much money your parents make you will still get al lthe help since you are now considered independent.

Breastfeeding is healthiest for moms and babies. Breastmilk is a live substance that changes to meet your baby's needs. It contains antibodies to anything mom and baby are exposed to which will keep your baby healthier. Formula can't do that.

Your breasts aren't making milk yet because you haven't given birth yet. You should notice a lot of breast changes during your pregnancy. Before it is over, you'll probably start leaking colostrum (the first milk) and when the baby is born, the birth of the placenta will tell your body to begin making milk. The more you nurse your baby, the more milk you'll make.

Talk to your mom about getting you to a La Leche League meeting. It's like a club for breastfeeding moms and they encourage pregnant moms to come too. Talk to the LLL Leader. She helps moms who have breastfeeding questions or problems for FREE. You'll learn a lot from her about breastfeeding so you'll be ready once the baby comes.

See the Lactation Consultant while you are in the hospital after the baby is born. She'll help make sure you are getting baby latched on well and holding him right, etc.

The links below have a lot of really good information for you about breastfeeding.

Good luck to you and congratulations!

Breastfeeding is healthier for not only the baby but for you too. It is beneficial for the baby because it transfers certain nutrients that only your body has and this will help him/her be healthier now and later in life. there has been studies that show your child will be less likely to be obese, have diabetes, cancer, and just less sick in general just by breastfeeding (plus there are many more benefits as well). It is beneficial for you first off while the baby is feeding your uterus will contract therefore making it tighten (hence shrink) faster (in other words your stomach will get smaller sooner) and you will be less likely to, in the future, have breast cancer. The best thing of all is that you and your baby will create a bond knowing that your body is helping sustain your babies life. But sweetie, I'm not going to lie when your milk comes in, and don't worry it will, it is going to hurt like nothing you've ever felt but just keep warm rags on them and (don't wake up the baby just to eat let him/her sleep otherwise you could mess up their sleeping routine which is starting to form) massage the milk out yourself. Oh, if you decide to breast feed then buy Lansinoh brand Lanolin- a complete life saver- and put it on after you feed EVERYTIME. You should really contact the La Leche League.
p.s. breastfeeding is easier at night b/c you don't have to wake up and fix a bottle and you don't have to worry about bringing bottles and formula with you everywhere you go, you don't have to worry about running out of formula when you are gone longer than you expected and it is expensive to buy formula all the time- they eat tons!!

good luck

Relax and take a deep breath, if your body is developed enough for you to conceive a child it is developed enough to do all the necessary functions that come with pregnancy. This my dear includes producing milk for the baby to feed from. I have never breastfeed personally, but bottle feeding was a pain. Instead of putting the baby on my nipple in the middle of the night, I had to get up make and warm a bottle. I suggest trying to breastfeed first, I wish I had. You can ask your doctor all these questions, and get the answer that is best for you, remember that there goal is to look out for the well being of you and your new little one. If you have any questions or want someone to chat with feel free to IM me.

breast is definatly the best thing. for your baby and for you I feel it brings you closer I have had 4 kids my first at 14 and kept her for 2 weeks breastfed the whole time before giving her up for adoption (couldn't get work and had no family help) I will allways cherish that time but I also charis the time I have nursed and am still nursing my one yr old now My oldest with me only nursed for 6 months cause I had to go in hospital for a week and I dried up. I hated giving bottles getting up in the middle of the night and having warm the bottle and to sit there and stay awake while I fed him was tireing yes I loved looking at his cute face but I would have rather been holding him close while I slept, plus with a bottle your more likely to prop the bottle when you think your to busy to hold the baby but baby's need that loving contact while they eat. Breastmilk is soo great for baby's no matter how hard they try formula will never duplicate mothers milk excatly. oh and if you decide to bring your baby into bed please read up on how to do it safely there are lots of books out there on co-sleeping and if you do decide to nurse your precious baby don't quite or keep going just because someone else says to you quite when it feels right for you and your baby.

WOW 13. what were you thinking??? anywho, at this point your body will produce enough breast milk. Nursing your baby is the best thing you can do for your baby. Breast milk also doesn't cost anything. Formula is only an option if your child doesn't latch on. make sure you eat healthy and your child will to.

You need to talk with a parent. Breastfeeding is good for the baby but not good for everyone. Everyone had different bodies. Did you think about if you got pregnant in the first place there will be milk when the baby is forming and arrives? Good Luck

If your tummy can carry a baby, ur breasts can make milk. give your baby breat milk exclusively. because you are still child. if you breat feed u wont have any hassle of cleaning bottles, waking up in night and mixing formula. because babies feed very often. sometimes every 2 hrs
i would suggest you take as much rest as u want after delivary. if you are in stress milk supply will reduce. find someone who will take care of you and baby all the time for atleast first 3 months. eat lot of protein and take calcium and iron suppliments. be always with someone who understands you well
if you are in canada register for a family visitor. she will help you a lot
