I plan to receive the core as a gift because the other one is too expensive. I was wondering if I add the hard drive if it will be the same exact thing. Now I don't care about the extras I just care about the system. Thanks for any responses that help.

Yes the Core is 299.99 + hardrive 99.99 = 400 +the same as the premium xbox 360 which is 399.99

well the only differencein the two different packages is, the expensive one comes with the hard drive and a headset and a wirless controller,the cheaper one comes with a wired controller and the x box. but yes buying the hard drive will make the cheap one do the same thing as the expensive one.
