I can do one better... my daughter who just turned 1yr old Oct 28 had a whopping 11 teeth on her birthday. As of yesterday, her 12th tooth broke the surface! Actually, 8th is considered avg for a 12mth old, so it's certainly not unusual. Typically the next 4 teeth wait until closer to 18mths, but your granddaughter could be like my daughter and get them sooner. It's all an average, it doesnt matter when they get them. The important thing is to start brushing them now that she has so many.

I don't think it's unusual at all. My daughter always broke teeth in sets of four when she was younger, by the time she was a year she had eight teeth as well. Her first set came in at like six months. Every little one develops a little differently, she just has good set of teeth.

Yes, it's unusual but everyone is different. My nine year old niece just got her 12 year old molars and her denist is already talking about braces. Her older sister was still losing baby teeth at 11 years old. What a difference, and they're siblings.

By 11 months, my daughters were only missing their 4 eyeteeth, and those came in shortly after.

On the other hand, one of my older daughter's friends had no teeth whatsoever until she was 15 months old.

So there's a huge range for "normal," and your granddaughter is right in the middle of it...

At the age of one, my daughter had 12 teeth and four more that were almost fully out. It's normal for your baby. Don't compare amount of teeth amongst babies because each baby is different.

Every culture is different. The child is lucky it has teeth.

Just tell the mom to teach the child to clean them well

when it's older. For now, the mom can wipe the teeth

clean with hygenic paper towel dipped in hydorgen peroxide/

water mixture.
