Im thinking of designing, building and selling units such as these, what do you think, any input will help.

Only if I had more money than brain cells ... so that would be a "NO" ... sorry!
In a more serious feedback-ish kind of way ... book collectors like to keep their books out of artificial light and in a dust free environment so they retain their value (often sealed in airtight bags) ... so still "NO" I'm afraid ... I don't think you're on to a winner there.

It would work beautifully for like hard cover first edition classic books like collected Shakespeare or the Bible but I don't know if I would do the current favorite thing.

No most people dont like displaying books on the wall even if its there favourite.

Well no, because I like to read my books more than once and I would not like them to be on the wall, to me they belong in a bookshelf...
