The key is why did you separate. Sounds like this may be a reoccurring situation if your family is ready to kick you to the curb over him. Mostly families only want what is best for you and your future. Think hard and long about the relationship with this guy and objectively. Will he cherish you, treat you like the best thing that ever came into his life? Will you have a beautiful life with him? Has he ever hit or abused you? Will he be a good provider, partner, and father? Or will you need to carry most of the responsibility in the relationship, cover up his bad behavior, and wonder where he is at all the time? No one is worth losing your family, especially if his history is smudged.

U were not explicit; such as is ur man ur hus-
band, ur boyfriend; ur friend; anyway forget
about what ur family thinks, I take it u are on
ur own now and more than 18yrs old and if so
now it's your turn in life to make decisions. You
definately need to talk to your man and make
sure that you and him getting back togeather
will result in a change from you being separa
ted in the first place. Life is too short to be
playing around, get a solid foundation with him
and make sure that is what you want because
if not then it will not work out , family opinion or
not.

Only you can answer that. You have to look honestly at your family's reasons for saying this. Are they concerned for your physical or emotional well-being? Family members generally have your best interests at heart. On the other hand, they can only respond to what they hear and see, so may be reacting to some things you've said about your BF in the heat of anger. I sense that if they care enough about you to be this adamant, they won't turn their back on you, regardless what you choose. Ultimately, you have to try to see the big picture from all sides. If you take the BF back, speak to your family compassionately, honestly and maturely about your choice. Tell them you appreciate their concern, and that you'll always need their support. But the last word: don't settle for less than you deserve in a mate.

Think about the reasons why you broke up to begin with. Chances are that the problem will still be there. If you do decide you want him back then go for it.... your family will get over it. My mom didn't talk to me for 4 months, and it hurt, but in the end she realized that it was my decision and dealt with it. I am sure your family will do the same. good luck!

Only you know the real situation between you and your man. Your family is only tryinb to protect you. It depends on your reason for breaking up and your resolution to re-commit. If he hurt you too badly, they may be right. But if he's willing to completely make it work by doing whatever it takes for you to feel comfortable, then go for it.

You didn't give enough information. What kind of man is he and how did he treat you before? Why did you break up before? Do you have children? Remember, mates can come and go...but family should be forever.....
