It seems to me that whenevery people answer these questions a large part of it is emotional. I was just wondering if anyone has changed their thoughts on these matters. ie. Thought 9/11 wasn't a conspiracy then thought it was ... or thought Iraq was about oil then thought it wasn't.
And also please tell me what led to the change in mind. Thanks.

I believed the official story of 9/11 for a while. Then I woke up. Though some of the official story may be true, too much of it has been de-bunked and now it just doesnt add up. People can beleive what they like, but lets take a look at some issues of concern. Great question!

We are a country that spent five years and $100 million investigating President Clinton. We probed the depths of the Iran-Contra scandal – a debacle that would have never come fully into the public eye had a special investigator not been appointed.

The 9/11 Commission interviewed two of it's own members and spent only $3 million. We have spent far more energy, money and time seeking the leak of Valerie Plame's identity and Barry Bonds' use of steroids.

Signed into order by the CHAIRMAN and EVERY MEMBER of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the plan (read it yourself) calls for innocent Citizens to be shot on American streets; American ships to be sunk on the high seas; for a wave of violent "terrorism" to be launched in major East coast cities.

The plan calls for Foreign Nationals to be framed for bombings they did not commit; and for planes to be hijacked and crashed into landmarks. Using the phony evidence, all of it would be blamed on a foreign country, thus giving Political and Military leadership the excuse, as well as the public and international backing, they need to launch a war.

The answer this question is quite simple. The overwhelming support that the administration received just prior to our incursion into Iraq, stemmed from a people who were still enraged by the outrage of 9/11. As with anyone, when they are enraged, they lose all sense of rationality. The end result of this blindness is that the American people all to easily were giving the Bush administration, and their corporate backers, carte blanche to behave as they wish, and to kill and violate who they desired. Now jump to the present day, and the acrimony about 9/11 has been abated due to the passage of time, and people are seeing things a bit more lucidly. They now are more vigilant and skeptical of their government, which is what they should have been from the very start. After all the lies concerning WMDs, and the supposed connection Saddam had to Al Qaeda had been exposed, the American people have finally turned on this administration, and that is why you have such an overwhelming opposition to the war now. It’s sad, because we did not have to come to this, if Americans would just heed a few basic lessons from history. Heads of state from all forms of governments – from dictatorships to democracies – have always used national tragedies to illicit consent from their people, to conduct a whole host of atrocities and abuses of justice. I know I may sound like a conspiracy nut, but I think part of the reason why there has been a concerted effort across most of the nation to increase funds for math and science education at the expense of the humanities –specifically English, history, and sociology – is because it is the intent of ruling powers to produce a citizenry of automatons who maybe good at engineering or medicine, but who are inept at analyzing rhetoric and the machinations of the government. How else, after all, can you explain a country who can produce such inventiveness that created such marvels as, the PC, Microsoft Windows, and the IPOD, but simultaneously produces many high school and college graduates who cannot articulate themselves much better than George Bush or who cannot tell you the underlying reasons behind WWII.

Only a very very un-informed person would believe Iraq was about oil. Only a very uneducated person.
Only a very gullible person could twist facts in order to believe that 9/11 was a conspiracy.
Clinton probably may have caused 9/11, but it wasn't intentional or a conspiracy.
He didn't want it to happen.

Not so much 9/11 but I've certainly changed my mind regarding Irag. When we first went in there even though I wasn't 100% for it, I gave the administration the benefit of the doubt. Since then, with all the contrary evidence I see it as one of the most collosal mistakes we've ever done. There's too much to write on but the unilateral attack was the worst.

Haven't changed. I've always known that Islamofascists were responsible for 9/11 & that the war in Iraq had nothing to do with oil.

My mind hasn't changed at all.
I have read all the conspiracy theories, they're all bunk.
I think the conspiracy theorists are probably the same ones who keep whining that drugs are still illegal.

I have precisely the same mindset as I did that morning of 9-11. The only thing to do is to kill/capture terrorists before they're successful and demonstrate that not only will they not win, but that they will be utterly discredited to others who are watching and waiting to choose sides.

I get the facts and I pretty much stick with them. I work for the truth. I guess i don't like surprises, nor be taken for a chump. There seem to be many on here willing to fill the chump slot though.

I have not changed my mind, and I will not.
I am afraid the "change of mind" seems par for the course for Dems, especially, - Vietnam etc, Run away when it gets nasty! - very predictable and, unfortunately the way the rest of the world sees us.
