Money is being thrown at these institutions, but they are run by useless P.C. types who don't have a clue on how to run these services. They are only there to feather their nests with gold plated wages, and indexed linked pensions, and if they do f*ck up they still get a golden handshake, so they have nothing to lose really. As for Brown he has managed to turn a £20 billion budget surplice into a £30 million budget deficit, and getting worse. This is why he has so many stealth taxes and dreaming up more to hit us with. When will this country wake up to the fact that we are being mismanaged and fight back? And when will all the Iraqis leave here and go back to their own country to help rebuild it, instead of looking for handouts all the time?

I agree that there is much to be done here and I do believe that we shouldn't have gone into Iraq, but now the government has done it, we have got a responsibility to sort out the mess. The Iraqis have lost all sense of normality. Women have all but disappeared from high-qualified, public posts and many skilled workers are leaving the country. Around 100 Iraqis die every day in attacks and the country is on the brink of civil war.
If I had the choice, which one of the two countries to live in - I'm sorry - I'd choose the UK any day! The government is not doing a very good job here or over there, but I would feel personally embarrassed, if we'd just leave Iraq to it.

How can you come out with this untruthful garbage?. Our Dear Leader says that everything in Britain is running like clockwork,Education,NHS,Policing,Taxation just everything. Just because the Dear Leader had a slip of the tongue on the David Frost show and admitted the Iraq War is a disaster that was only because of the immense strain he is under trying to think of ways to shaft Gordon and his ambitions to be PM.

Pensioners have a hard time here in Canada too.Shortages of doctors, welfare dosen't pay enough.Universities have to teach some kids fresh out of high school to read.Children's Aid picks on kids in trouble and abuse them for years with "What's the real reason ?"routine and others.Government owes billions to natives for residential school abuse instead PM sends 15 million to help build houses in Afghanistan when there are flood victims here who need it .Some places don't have decent drinking water. There are politicians that are crooked, heartless and brainless everywhere.Time for people to get together and change things for the better.Good luck in U.K.!

Were in the same position as we were with the Tories after 18 years. All though this Governments edict is to spend, spend, spend, the whole economy is in deficit to the tune of 30 billion pounds. That's an overall loss of 50 billion pounds because the Tories were in the black by 20 billion. Where has the money gone? and above all who has benefited?.

The British pre-schools i've had to deal with are more interested in getting their funding and meeting their targets than the kids's individual needs.
My local NHS hospital is in the top ten for more than one thing that is not a compiment on it or it's services.
That 100 million is a drop in an ocean compared to the billions that gets wasted in paperwork and man-hours because everything is controlled and decided in Westminster.

Yes it is his way of saying what a prat he was. It is also a way of him trying to get his legacy. He wants to be seen as the one who helped sort out Iraq. Good for the person who caused it. Why not give our troops that money to save their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan.
