This is a decision you are doomed to regret. You will have raging diarrhea and cramping and not go into labor unless it is practically starting already and then you will just complicate the situation by having raging diarrhea. An old wives tale of a solution that is best left to people who aren't smart enough to listen to reason... try something simple like walking to stimulate contractions (labor).

There are other natural ways to induce labor. using caster oil is not one of them. this will only lead to sever cramping and complications..If and only if your way past due, and your doctor Say's it's OK to do this,(talk to him or her first!!) your husband or boyfriend can make you go into labor safely and naturally with a few orgasms from oral sex. This is NOT a sure fire solution but I've seen it work 2 different times when the mother was 1.5 months and a little over 2 months pass due and the doctor said go for it and give it a try before they induced labor. It worked.

DO NOT use castor oil as a way to induce labor. It isn't safe and can cause serious problems for you and the baby

You are going to get a lot of women telling you not to take it. They say it isn't safe, but it is. I know it is because I myself as well as a lot of other women in my family used it and have never had a problem. If you can find one of the tiny bottles, drink the whole bottle. I am not sure how much is in it but it isn't more than a couple ounces. Make sure you chase it with juice cause its pretty nasty lol. I took it and had my son at 2:18 am. I wasn't in labor that whole time, but I am confident it helped. From the time my water broke until he was born was 28 minutes! I wouldn't advise taking it if you aren't dilated. Good luck and congratulations! By the way Kat, do not generalize people just because I used castor oil does not mean I am stupid!

None unless you just want to be miserable. You can not induce labor by using castor oil.

NONE - it is not safe for you or baby. let nature take it's course. If your doctor thought you should be in labor they would be inducing you.

Normal dose is 1 to 4 ounces...I would start with two oz and mix it vigorously with a can of root beer or cream soda...But it doesn't always work.
