There is a birth control that offers no cycle. Some women worry as they think that can't be healthy but some doctors think that it may be better. They believe that breast cancer may be related to women having their cycle too often due to the low pregnancy rate and the constant production of estrogen. a womans thoughts please?

I am personally very wary of those birth control methods that make you have no periods for long stretches of time. The hormones released during your monthly cycle are extremely important to keep your bones healthy and strong. I mean just look what happens to women after menopause! Their biggest worry is osteoporsis from not having estrogen and the other hormones associated with periods any longer. That is why those estrogen replacement drugs are/were so popular. I would reccommend thinking twice before using those no cycle birth control systems. They could be causing more harm than they are worth. I would rather deal with a monthly period now than have to worry about a hip fracture when I am 50.

There is a new one that has a period every 3 months.
I have never heard of breast cancer from too many periods. and too much estrogen. You get estrogen during pregnancy.
They have done studies of nuns and breast cancer and related the higher incidence to lack of breast feeding. They need to do a new study of the women during the era when nursing your baby was not in vogue.

If you think of it our bodies were made to make babies. We interfere with mother nature by using birth control or many of us would have baby after baby and be pregnant all the time. Makes since to me!

I used to take the depo-provera shot and I have never had any bad side effects from it. It did stop my period, for a couple years, actually. I even take multiple other meds for bipolar disorder and had no interractions.
