What is so exciting about playstation 3, I understand it is a game system, and people are very excited of its recent release. There have been riots in California, and now it is happening even in the smallest states. I live in Rhode Island, and a man was shot at the local Wal-mart, I was shocked when I heard, and figured it had something to do with a gang, but it was over a damn Playstation 3. This is stupdity, I don't get why people don't just wait a few months or so like the xbox 360. You can basically get an xbox 360 anywhere nowadays, but when it released, it was nearly impossible. I hope you guys agree with my opinion, because this is getting sickening, especially to a former gamer such as myself.

Basically when you have a opportunity to make quick money, there is a good chance to come across some less than nice people. Most of the people who stood in line were not gamers but people who were looking to make money. The real gamers are being held hostage on Ebay unfortunately.

Most gang members are gamers. That is where all the problems are coming from. It is actually fairly common for gang members to murder people over and XBoX or something, just like they do over sneakers, jackets etc.

Oh and PS3 sucks. I looked into possibly getting one of these so I followed several of the games that are/were in development for it. Almost all of them were pathetic. Te few I thought I might have some interest in, I changed my mind pretty damn quick when I say clips of actual gameplay. The PS3 may be hot damn compare to old consoles like the PS2 and XBoX but it is at least 2 or 3 years behind the technology curve when compared to PC games. Also, for the same price as one, you could buy a PC that will play any game out there well. Computers are dirt cheap now and the PS3 costs about 3 times what it is worth (not that it would be worth having at that price).

Best advice? Don't buy one. Wait a few months until Blockbuster is renting them out and then rent out the one or two games you might like along with the console for a weekend. After you are finished, never bother to play with one again.

I believe that you are right that this is a stupidity. In Atlanta people have tried killing people over the PS3. They can't wait a few months because they want the most recent things. As an additional bonus if you wait longer sony will solve the major glitches the system might have. And if people did wait longer for the XBOX 360 the disc drive problem that people had could have been fixed also.

Oh I agree totally.
The Wii came out today, (or does soon) and it's going to be the same thing,
I normally wait a few months, by than it's not in great demand and plus, sometimes it has sales, specials and things like that. I love games also, but seriously, I'm not going to spend the night in front of a Best Buy just to wait for a gaming console! I have better things to do in my life!

It's b/c these people want the "first" batch of PS3's. They think its special. But whatever, things will die down again, they will come up with a new console and it will happen all over again!

Oh what has happened to this world.

I'd riot along with people to get my hands on a PS3. I'd want to play it, but i would sell it on EBay for $3,000-$10,000. I'd make a killing of the morons on EBay. Not everyone on EBay is a moron though.

To the first guy, if we are going to stereotype, then most nerds/geeks are 'gamers', not gangsters.
