because at the end of the day they're just human like the rest of us.

And like the rest of us they don't know what the experience of dying, the moment of transition, is gonna be like. I think this is what people fear the most.

Also if you read the scriptures you will find out that even Jesus himself feared to die.

Why do people make such sweeping statements???!!! I am sure you will come across a priest or holy person who is afraid of death.... it does not mean that, as a generic group, they are. I am a non believer.... or rather I am still a seeker I have spent a lot of time with priests, vicars, nuns in the west and buddhist monks and nuns in the far east and cannot say I have come across this fear.
I fear there is, it might not be about the after life/after place but about the death act itself....

Even though Priest, and other holy people believe in a better place is waiting for them they still have this fear of dying like most people. Maybe because they fear how they will die or they won't end up in that better place.

Who says that they do? I've never heard a priest or holy person saying they were scared to die.

But it's only natural to be afraid of anything unknown that may involve pain etc, even if you end up in Heaven.

A woman may be afraid of the pain of labour, that doesn't mean she's not looking forward to the baby & will love him/her more than anything. But it's only natural to be afraid of the most pain you'd ever feel in your life. In the same way, a priest may look forward to Heaven, but still fear the pain of dying. They are only human after all. Even Jesus had a rough time with death. It's not always a picnic!

Well, because no one believes they are completely perfect. Even if they are holy people. Everyone has sinned in his or her life sometime or another. That’s why they fear death because they have to face the sins they committed in this life. They don’t always know whther will be going to heaven even though they are religious. Only God himself knows who will go to heaven and who won’t. Also these days religious people can be religious all they want, but it depends on their heart as wel. For example if they are kind or selfish, all this all counts. Therefore, it might be even though they are religious they might know deep down that they haven’t really been good. So that’s why they fear death – I guess.

I've never met a priest or any other kind or 'holy person' who fears death and if u have then they cannot fully believe in their well their beliefs. I don't fear death because i believe my beliefs.

my family had a friend who was an Anglican priest. He had cancer, and when asked why he seemed so at peace, he would wave his hand sideways and say "faith."
Some have more of it than others, and fear, well, it is human to have fear of the unknown. This wonderful, kindly man did not.
Others go out kicking and screaming, and overall having fits. As someone said, the transition is what sucks!

I carry the title reverend... I am a Christian, lifelong, I am also a psychic medium, lifelong, who has seen beyond this life through many NDEs and been fortunate to be allowed to live again... I met God inside a coma lasting many months, from which my faith arose.

I do not fear passing into life beyond this realm, since I know we do not die... I merely fear the way that it might be... hopefully, not suffering as my father did... the pain of watching this first death within my life aged 23, after a first of many premonitions that came true EXACTLY as I was told, is something I still ponder on age 61.

But I accept whatever happens, is for a purpose that I will understand, when the time arrives for me to meet my maker once again and not return.

Who told you they fear death!! It appears to me that you are making an unfounded statement. Most people who have a religious background are at peace with themselves and don't fear death. They accept death as being inevitable but continue to get the most out of their present existence. Where did you get your information from.

Do they actually fear death? Maybe. It depends on how the death is approching- if by tsunami, fire, or falling structures, it feels frightening to see such calamity approaching to claim ya life.

If it via long term illness, then you know it is coming and you may have prepared. Then you are at peace with your self and others maybe. The fact is Holyman or evil man, no one actually knows where the dead goes so...
