Make sure the agent is a member of The Talent Association of America:

If the agent is not a member, do not give them your headshot/resume.

Agents submit a headshot/resume to a Casting Director in consideration for an audition for an actor client. Do you want to send your resume /headshot to Talent Agents and/Casting Directors? Ask your actor friends the procedure for the city where you live. Each agent/casting director has their own policy for receiving actor headshots/resumes. Ask your actor friends the procedure for mailing photos/resumes to Agents and Casting Directors in your city.

Some NYC talent agents accept unsolicited resumes, others don't. Some agencies look at resumes and headshots, others toss them in the trash.

Ask your acting teacher, or actor friends, if there is a newspaper for actors, in your city, that publishes audition information.
