Winter is fine to plant a tree as long as the ground is not frozen. A nursery's selection will not be great during the winter, but they will have some trees you can plant now.

Ha ha. You're cute. Why don't you tell us where you live? It will soon be winter here in Maine. The ground will freeze, several feet of snow will accumulate and the temp will drop to 25 below zero. And you want to plant a tree?

You plant all trees in the fall,or winter if you like as long as ground isnt frozen.Pruneing done same time.

Maybe you should try planting a acorn tree and try and see how that works or maybe call your local FFA programs or Agricultural center or here is a website you can maybe try.

check with local nurseries. fall is usually better than winter. depending on where you live the ground could be warm enough for roots to grow or it might be better to wait for spring.
