I want to hook up a 20# propane tank to a portable heater to use in my deer stand. Do I need some sort of reglator?

There should be a regulator on the end of the hose from the heater. Or, at least a metering valve.

Yes, any time you are using any kind of compressed gas you must use a regulator. Typically it will be part of the heater assembly if it is designed for use on a portable tank.

u will need to read and see if the heater requires a high pressure regular.......
