I have been earning money by my own merits since I was eight.
When I was 12, I had an after school paper route. I also shovelled driveways in the winter, and did gardening and lawn care in the summer. From my family's vegetable garden, I sold tomatoes, cucumbers and lettuce to the neighbourhood. (I had orders from one neighbour to bring ALL my tomatoes to her first. And I always got a good price for them.) My mom went back to work full-time, so she hired me to do all the housework and laundry and food preparation. And I used to earn extra by babysitting, and helping my older neighbour ladies wash and set their hair.

When I was at school used to buy sweets from the local shop and sell them to my schoolmates and make a profit.
I always earned enough to cover the cost of buying the sweets, have some sweets for myself, save a few quid and buy more sweets for the next day.
Eventually everybody got to know that I was "the sweet seller" and they came looking for me to see what I had to sell.
Good luck

If you don't want to do lawn care or washing cars, do you have a hobby? When I was 12 I crocheted doilies and angel ornaments and sold them to family friends and neighbors. I made enough that one year to buy the jewelry box I'd had my eye on.
