Well , it depends on is this 12 year old spoiled or he is treated like any other 12 year old? Also you need to concider what else you are giving him beacuse you need to set a budget. I good budget for a 12 year old at christmas would most likly be between 150 and 200 dollars for a 12 year old. I would most lilkly say yes. since i want one myself.

i would completely flip out and be sooooo happy if my parents got me an ipod nano! that sounds like a wondeful gift idea. make sure you're buying the new ipod nano with the anodized aluminum body so it doesnt scrathch as much

I would think it is a good gift as long as you think the 12 year old is responsible enough not to lose it or leave it out where it can be stolen or ruined. My 11 year old wants one but I told her not for a year or two!

I think an ipod Nano is a great gift. he/she can put their own music on it or vedios on it and listen to them when ever they want and store a back up copy on there computer. Or if you ever go away its a small thing to bring along.

of course....any child would love an iPod of any type....the newest really skinny iPod nano's are great and cheaper and they have a lot of really cute, funky colors like the red, lime gree, or turquoise one.....have fun shopping!
