I try my very best to put into practice the things I have learned from the scriptures with respect to how to treat others and how to live my life. I find it much easier to apply the principles I learn there when I am constantly "feeding my mind" on them through reading, studying and meditating on how to apply them in my life.

I'm not sure if you're looking for ideas as to how to continue to be a good person yourself or if you're just curious what people will say in response to your question, but I'll expound a bit more just in case you're looking for ideas for yourself - not to "boast."

Some of the things I try to do in my effort to be a "good" person are:

1) Make time to spend with my family
2) Keep my ears open for what those around me are in need of to see which needs I can fill (i.e. a shoulder to cry on, a little massage, some grocery money, a day out with a friend, etc.)
3) I write little cards expressing what things I appreciate about certain individuals a couple times a month to different people each time and I make sure whatever I say is truly what I appreciate about them.
4) I volunteer time each month in a service to the community that helps educate people about family issues, current events and Bible topics.
5) When I make mistakes and maybe show anger toward someone I try to make myself apologize and work through the problem instead of letting it fester.

I hope that's what you're looking for! I wish you well.

Sometimes. Honestly, it depends on my mood. When I am in a good mood, it is MUCH easier to go out of my way to make others feel better. When I feel like crap, it is difficult to care what others are feeling..its just the truth. I am overall a kind person, and I always say my pleases and thank yous.

By your definition, no, I am not a good person. I am kind when I seem to be capable of being kind, but that isn't all the time.
I do not always go out of my way to make people feel better. I only do that sometimes, perhaps even "often", but not always. I often help people, but I probably just as often walk past people who have their hands out begging for help. I live in a city. I see some people every day begging for handouts. I never give them money. I occasionally give them information about shelters for the homeless and about day labor or entry-level jobs or about job training. Or sometimes I give food, but never money. Especially if it seems like it is mainly money that a person is asking for.
I do meet people who feel bad about being abusive to other people. I do not try to make them feel good about themselves by telling them that it is okay to abuse others. I help people when i feel it is appropriate to help and I walk away when I feel it is not appropriate to help.
I don't consider myself a bad person for that, but by your definition, I'm not nice.

Well i liked to think so, three days ago i bought three bouquet of flowers. One for a friend that i wasn't close to but knew that it would make her feel special to get something for her birthday, another one for a neighbor who has been in a car accident and another one a thank you for a someone that recognized racism and did an event for it. I did that all in one day!

i do think of myself as being good, but that doesn't mean i'm perfect either. i always treat people with respect, courtesy and dignity. i try to be polite, down-to-earth, respectful and do good deeds. as long as people treat me with respect, i am more than welcome to return the favour back to them. i buy and give gifts and presents to those who i believe really deserve them. although a few years ago, i bought gifts and presents for two people- and still they treated me like crap, and since those incidents, it made me think twice regarding the people i choose to buy gifts for. i like to be an even better and more kind and caring person as i grow up. there are still things for the wider community and people closest to me i want to do for them, and i want to contribute more to good causes, especially ones that condemn child abuse, animal cruelty and to do my bit for the environment. i also want to travel to different places in the world and get to know the people there, as well as i'd like to help those less fortunate to myself.

so to answer your question, yes i am a good person- and i am being modest here, but like everyone else i do make mistakes still. and never see myself as being better than everyone else.

I try to help people where I can - making them smile, listening to problems and being there for friends and family, offering to assist when I can. Sometimes I put myself first (who dosen't?) I wish I could be more selfless though.

I always put other people first. It isn't always a good thing though......I need to start doing for myself more often and let people handle some things by themselves.
