well the look north-northeast, as that is were the constellation leo is and where the radiant to the meteors will be...they will look like they are coming from leo thats why they are called the leonids

You just have to find a dark place with few trees, hills, or buildings blocking your view of the sky. It doesn't matter which part of the sky you look in, as meteors can be seen in any part of the sky. That's why you need an unobstructed view - to see as many meteors as possible.

any place that is dark/rural with a good view of the northern sky. maine is supposed to have a good view.

Go somewhere dark and away from trees (good luck), and look up!
