You could try having sex. While it won't send you into labor if your cervix isn't ready, if it is getting ready that may make the difference.

Please do NOT try drinking castor oil, I'm sure someone is bound to suggest it. It can cause major abdominal cramping and diarrhea and send you to the hospital for that but it will NOT put you into labor.

Good luck waiting it out, the end is the hardest, I'm at 35 weeks and already getting antsy.

You still have a few weeks before your body may even allow you to begin the process. However sex, long walks, or any strenuous activity can help you start the journey to full fledged labor. Good Luck To You

Of all the choices I have seen out there, I think sex (with orgasm)* is the only one that has any shot of working. Again realize when she is ready she will come, your schedule unfortunately doesn't get to count. I am in the dame position, I went into Pre term labor in the beginning of Sept. & then spent 9 wks on terbuteline then nifedipine and complete bedrest to make sure she didn't come early. Now I am "full term" and nothing is happening. So I understand your frustration, but you just have to hang in there. * I say orgasm because when I was on bedrest my OB told me I could not go get a pedicure (my husband wanted to treat me) because he was worried it would "stimulate" me....

When it is time it is time and that's really all there is to it... Best of luck to you and congratulations!!

My doctor also recommended sex and nipple stimulation. I was told that when the nipples are rubbed your body releases pitosin. However you shouldn't try to induce labor yet till you are over due your body will know when it's time. If you are wondering how the baby's lung's are fully developed, you will release a hormone that will send you into labor. Good luck with the baby and congats.

There are many things to induce labor. But you might want to wait another week or until you're 40 weeks. There is something you can have your doctor or midwife do, but it is a bit extreme! it's called...

STRIPPING THE MEMBRANES....

It is known to be a bit painful and might go into labor that day! So be sure you're ready! Pack your bags!! Your doctor might not agree though. If you wait another week he might do it! GOOD LUCK!

Full term pregnancy is 40 weeks. Your body will go into labor when the baby is ready to be born. Just let nature run its course.

and do NOT drink castor oil! It will just make you sick and will not induce labor.
