i have dsl and it only does it when im on the internet

Might have a virus. Download AVG and update it then scan. Delete all the infected files it finds. Next could be spyware in which case you need to download Spybot Search & Destory and Lavasoft's Adaware. Both are free and will need to be updated before you scan. Scan with both of them but not at the same time. Again delete all the infected files it finds.

If that fails then you can try a system restore in Windows.

Last case you could try a format and install a fresh copy of Windows on your machine.

AVG is free too.

IT depends what did you install as of late was it a video card if so then the old drivers have not been totally removed for the new video card to work. Or the new drivers for the video card are bad. It might be because the virus gets its instructions from the internet. If you can't download anti-virus from the internet of course, then you need to get it from a cd or dvd.
