If you are uncircumcised be sure you wash under your foreskin with very mild soap and warm water twice a day and especially after sexual intercourse. Wash all over, especially the crotch and the anal region. Let your hair grow in. Also check out your partner.
If you are circumcised, let your hair grow in, wash normally with soap and water when you shower or bathe. Wash every part of your body, including the crotch and anal region. Use antibacterial soap if you want. Experiment. This should be enough, once a day.
Be aware whether you have any sexually transmitted disease (STDs). Symptoms are available in any good medical book.
If the odor persists go to your doctor.

If by grooming, you mean shaving, then the answer is clear, and so is the solution - let the hair grow back! It helps the air circulate and keep the odor from getting ripe. And if it's for a woman, she probably doesn't want it bald there anyway. Many of us find this 1990s hairless bit a real turnoff. We like men, not little boys!

You should have posted this under the
Personal>Too Much Information category
It's real nice that you're keeping it pretty for the ladies(?)
The shorter the hair, the less chance there is of air circulating around your male stuff, heat escapes between the hair follicles
You could put deodorant "down there", just remember that spray deodorants come out cold. Too bad they don't make FDS for men

You probably smelled and sweat as much before you started grooming. The hair just traps it. Think of all the bald men with sweat glistening on their heads after a workout...guys with hair don't necessarily sweat less they just have hair to trap the sweat and smell. Just double check that you don't have bad razor burn that is infected or anything and you should be fine.

You may think this is strange , but males in europe and other eastern countries trim their pubic area keeping the hair short for a couple of reasons, #1. it reduces sweat, and bacteria so you will smell better. #2 it is more appealing to woman, for the same reasons as stated in #1. as well as being more attractive not having a lot of hair to contend with when being intimate.

It's cause you don't wash well.
go wash with some mild Liquid soap, put a lot and lather up, then dont rinse off with water, RATHER instead, wash off with ethyl alcohol from the pharmacy. Follow up with witch hazel splash.
Your problem will improve.

Don't wear briefs. Wear boxers. The tightness of the briefs keeps air from getting to your private areas...also, if too tight, they can lead to low-sperm count. When you get dressed for the day use baby powder, or check with your local Avon Rep. They have powders that are the same scent as some of their colognes.
