its most likely that it will cost more to get it repaired than buying a new one so i would suggest getting a new one also with your new monitor make sure the refresh rate isn't too high as it will shorten your monitors life

Before you go spending money on new monitors, check the 15 pin sync cable. A common problem which causes thi seffect is one of the pins at either end being bent and shorting to the shield of the 15 pin D type connector. If thats the case, get a pair of long nose pliers and pull it straight again and it may solve the problem. If not, nothing lost.

Yep i agree - check the cables first. If you can get hold of a spare one swap them and see if the problem persists. How old is the PC? This could also be a PSU problem (power supply) which degrade over time, its a good idea to buy a new one every 5 or 6 years and they are only about a £10 for a basic 500w supply and really easy to fit.

It sounds like your photographs card isn't stable sufficient. i'm a sims 2 participant and a commonplace on the BBS (Sims 2 communicate board), while human beings have stated issues (tended to be purple partitions is the main straightforward) each and every of the replies have been relating to the photographs card. On maximum laptops this would't be replaced, try upgrading your picture card's drivers. regrettably the subject would desire to be the computing device, I had an Acer (I now have a Compaq) and became very disillusioned with it.

It's better to buy a new one. Here in usa they are only about $69.00 unless you want a flat panel. I have a Dell 20 inch widescreen cinema monitor it was $400 but sweet.
