Sure, I think that's great! I started exercising the day after I got home from the hospital. I enjoyed taking my son on long walks. I also did postnatal video tapes that helped me get my body back. Personally, I think the longer you put off exercising the harder it is to get back to your pre-pregnancy weight.

Start off slow and work your way up to a exercise routine. Most importantly work at your own pace. It'll be easier now while your baby still sleeps a lot--once they are past four months you'll wish you would've started sooner! Best of luck and congrats!

Yes, although it is certainly a time to be aware of how you feel and no over-due anything. Err on the side of caution until you adjust to the changes your body will be going through in the next few months. If you breast-feed, be sure to wear a strong bra so you don't put extra bouncing pressure on your breasts. That will make the stretch marks harder to get rid of, and just make them ache. Better if you stick to low-impact exercises. Treadmill, or Nordic Track, which I think is especially well-designed. Those of us who need to work up from very out of shape appreciate it especially.

If you take it easy on yourself, yes I think it's fine. If you were active just prior to delivery, I think you can be active just after without any worries. I certainly didnt feel like exercising 1 wk pp, I still felt like I had been hit by a train! Good for you though.

it's probably okay to walk. at a slow pace. nothing faster than you would do while carying the baby. you wouldn't want to overdo it and strain yourself or otherwise compromise your health. congratulations! i hope i have the nerve and pain tolerance to do the natural thing when my time comes... years and years and years from now!
