Hm, thats funny... i live here, and have NEVER seen nor heard of such a thing. Thats just stupid! NOT to mention, against the laws. You cant mess with any kind of lines..rather, power or cable or telephone.

Movies.. are just exactly THAT, their MOVIES!!!

I thought that it was an anti-war protest that started during the Vietnam war. If someone you knew was killed in the war you threw old shoes over the power cables as a way of protesting to the government. When deaths started occurring in Iraq the protests started again.

as a former elect. engineer i can say that there is no technical reason to substantiate this insulator [footware] trying to induce an eddy current onto a parallel conductor...
b/c an insulator will never allow itself to accept an electron, pass a proton out of orbit...
if the footware were pasta like and belonged to a giant and a tsunami passed over them...maybe the giant shoes would be close enough for their tips to accept an arc/spark from ground to start electron flow...

non technical in North America there are many cases of footware mania, and b/c when one of us sees another jump off a bridge, we follow b/c its what our parents disapprove of
:. when we see hanging sneakers we must prove to the americas that we too can do it

we need to keep ahead of the game
