An electric razor? I don't know how old your dad is. That will have a big effect on the answers. My dad is 50 and he likes things for his car. Seat covers, etc.

i wold think a special time with your dad versus a store bought present because the time with dad is much more important to him than the gift

I know what you mean. But there has to be something he doesn't have. Start a conversation about electronics or something, or show him something on the web. He may show some enthusiasm over something that he doesn't have.
