Your question is rather vague, but I think I understand what you're asking. The only way to delete all the information you have stored on your computer is to reformat the hard drive using the original system disk that came with the computer. Just make sure you copy and save all the files that you will need! You should do this process, if you're planning on giving this computer to a friend or donating it to good will! I hope this answers your question.

Sometimes, if perhaps you are worried about people getting information off of your hard drive after it is no longer under your control, say your giving you're computer to someone or selling it, then try a program like this
http://dban.sourceforge.net/
Warning though this program will completely erase your hard drive all files will be gone, and you will have to reinstall an operating system on the computer in order to use it again, so only use it if you sure that's what you want to do.
You have to wipe random data over the drive many times in order to make sure nobody can get information off of it.

Yes. Your hard drive can be read until you do a wipe. There are programs that wipe the disk. Only after a wipe is your hard drive nonreadable. All delete does is erase a pointer to your previous files, but it doesn't delete the actual files. They are still on the hard drive, regardless of their type. Sometimes you can wipe the file itself without having to reformat or wipe the entire disk.
Also, beware of Internet Service providers and Google. They record your searches - especially Google - for life, and every search you have made in Google is recorded in a huge database which Google will probably sell someday for a price. And AOL is monitoring e-mail for certain activities.

Yes it can, criminals get hard drives out of the dump and troll them for information. You need to use something like eraser but the only safe way to completely erase a hard drive is to destory it completely. I recommend a hammer and a magnet.

Yes it can be read. It also depends how you got rid of the info. If you partioned and formated the HDD there still is history on your HDD. But a hammer and magent will do the job. Get a high powered magnet and the data will be gone. Because on the hdd disks have magnetics particles that hold the data. Hope i helped :)

generally yes.... When you delete a file its generally just deleting the first few bits. If you want a clean drive where you have little or no chance of someone finding anything you need to run a program that will wipe your disk. There are several programs out there that can do this for you....
