p=pineapple juice
ginger ale=1000-p
.6p+.9(1000-p)=.75*1000
.6p+900-.9p=750 subtract 900
-.3p=-150 divide by -.3
p=500l of pineapple juice
also 500l of ginger ale

Resolution ------------------------------
P - 60 liters
G - 90 liters
60 + 90 = 150 --- fruit drink
150 / 2 = 75 --- fruit drink and since 150 cents were 2 liters when i
divided by 2 it became 1 litre and 75 cents , so i would say :
1/2 liter , 30 cents - pineapple juice ;
1/2 liter , 45 cents - giger ale ;
( Resume : Both half a liter )
And if you would like since 1000 is 150 each mix , if each mix is 75 the answer would only be half which is 500 liters .

You dont have to put it into an equation, its common sense. A half and half mixture of pineapple and ginger ale (500 liters each) will sell for 75 cents.

60 + 90/2 = 75

so you have 1000 litres, of drink that retails for .75 dollars per liter, = 750 dollars of product

if you use 250 litres of ginger ale (225 dollars) and 750 litres of pineapple juice (450 dollars) it only cost you 675 dollars, and you make 75 dollars profit (ha ha)

but your maths teacher will probally want you to balance the books.

thus 400 litres of ginger ale (400 x 0.90 = $360 dollars)
plus 600 litres of pineapple (600 x 0.60 = $360 dollars) = $720 dollars
divide by 1000 = 72 cents per litre - damn you still make a profit

Guess you will have to use 500 litres of ginger ale (500 x .9 = $450 dollars) and 500 litres of Pineapple (500 x .6 = $300) = 750 dollars, when divided by 1000 = equal to 75 cents per litre, = bankruptcy.

tell your teacher this answer, but add it costs .75 cents a litre to manufacure in raw costs, and 10 cents to mix in handingling costs. each litre package costs 25 cents to make, 5 cents to print, and 14 cents to advertise. = wholesale price of $1. 19 cents to manufacture, and the retailer wants a 50% mark-up profit, thus it sells for $1.79per litre

You don't need to make 2 equations.

1l of pineapple costs 60 cents

1l of ginger costs 90 cents.

so one litre of each costs $1.50

2 litres of mixture in equal proportions costs $1.50

1 litre mixture of equal proportions costs 75 cents.

As long as the quantity of pineapple is equal to or greater then the ginger, the drink will break even or make a profit.

500litres of each (total 1000 litres) will make a drink that costs 75 cents a litre

1000 x .75 = P x .60 + G x .90
and
G = 1000 - P

ok - now solve

Two simultaneous equations:
PJ + GA = 1000
(0.60 x PJ) + (0.90 x GA) = 0.75 x 1000
Solve for either variable.
Answer 500 liters of each.

equal amounts of each should do it, 75 = 60 + 15, & 90 - 15 so 500 ltr of each
